Discourse community
I belong to Reduser and DVXuser, both are camera and filmmaking forums with great tips and tricks. Most members are amatuer, student and indy-filmakers, and are on the tech side of things more than the creative end. I would say 99% of the community is men over 25. Probably all are under 50. It is a very male-dominated firum, but very formal and on topic. Most are American, but there are quite a fews guys from Europe. I can surf the forum for hours just reading articles and posts.

This sounds like a great and productive discourse community. I am wondering what format they use for chats (listserv, Webpage, blog)?
Do you think the language (I'm guessing it's lots of jargon) is used to keep people in the community, keep people out, both?

One more thing, did you get a chance to add two people to your blogroll? It'll just make responding easier down the road.
